Middle School Counseling Center
EAMS Counseling Center
Welcome to the East Aurora Middle School Counseling Center. We are located on the 2nd floor of the MS, where we are easily accessible to all students and staff. The Counseling Center is a safe place for all students. We provide an opportunity for students to have a quiet place to either regroup, reset, or talk with one of us. Students come to the center for a variety of reasons - conflicts, academic support, anxiety, friendship issues, etc.
In addition to our regular staff, we also have 2 comfort dogs that try to visit on a weekly basis. McAuley and Nala are labrador retrievers that spend time visiting with our students during the day.
Tips from the Middle School Counseling Center to have a successful school year:
Make sure to get plenty of sleep
Drink water and eat a healthy balanced diet
Set small achievable goals for yourself
Practice deep breathing throughout the day to help manage intense emotions
Practice self-care in your daily routine
Stay organized by using a planner to keep track of assignments
Be an advocate for yourself! Ask for help when needed.
Get involved. We challenge each student to join at least one club. It’s a great way to make new friends and be a part of the school community.
Be kind to others. You never know what someone else is going through on any given day.
Be present in the moment. Enjoy the time you have here at the Middle School.
