Seniors
College-bound seniors, please be sure to continue exploring career and college opportunities. You should plan to visit colleges of interest over the summer since the application process occurs in the fall of your senior year.
Career-bound seniors, please be sure to do your best this year in school. It is a good idea to speak with your teachers and school counselor about the field you are planning to enter.
Military-bound seniors, please be sure to contact the appropriate military recruiter and do your best this year in school.
NCAA-bound students, who plan to participate in intercollegiate athletics and plan to attend an NCAA Division I or II colleges or university need to understand the academic eligibility requirements. Information and registration are available on the NCAA website at www.eligibilitycenter.org.
All students should plan to submit a resume to their school counselor so that we can be aware of their achievements. This is especially important when we write a recommendation to colleges, employers, or for your scholarships.
Senior Review - In September we will meet with each senior individually for their senior review. The purpose of the meeting is to review graduation requirements, college and career information, and the college application process and deadlines. Class rank will also be shared with students at this time.
College Admission Testing
Last year, we recommended that students take the PSAT in the fall of their junior year. All students planning to attend a four-year college or university should have taken either the SAT or the ACT in the spring of their junior year.
The first SAT test is held in October and will be held at East Aurora High School. East Aurora High School will also be offering the May administration. Please follow the link to see registration deadlines, registration information, additional test dates, and information on SAT testing at www.collegeboard.org. If you are unable to register online, registration packets and fee waivers are available in the Counseling Center.
The first ACT test is held in September and will be held at East Aurora High School. East Aurora High School will also be offering the June administration. Please follow the link to see registration deadlines, registration information, additional test dates, and information on ACT testing at www.actstudent.org. If you are unable to register online, registration packets and fee waivers are available in the Counseling Center.
Reporting Test Scores
Students, it is your responsibility to have test scores sent from the testing agency to the colleges to which you are applying. During test registration, you can request this.
The test center will also send East Aurora High School Counseling Center the scores, which will be included on the East Aurora High School transcript. Many colleges accept the scores in this manner. If a college request scores sent directly from the testing agency and the test scores were not requested at registration time, you can call or go online to request that they be sent.
College Representatives Visit East Aurora High School
College representatives are available to students during the day in the Counseling Center. Please check the bulletin board outside of the Counseling Center for a list of visiting colleges and dates.
College Fairs
There are two college consortiums scheduled at East Aurora High School this fall. College representatives will be here to answer questions and give information about their schools. Parents are welcome to attend.
The WNY College Consortium will be held in September.
