Our First grade students used coding to program their BeeBots to mimic the Thanksgiving Day parade. They learned how the Macy's Day Parade balloons are made., then they made their balloons and attached them to BeeBots. Next, the students programmed them to go through an amazing lego city. Mrs. Kaminski would like to thank the wonderful Boys and Girls club morning students for building a very detailed and well thought out city. These students thought of everything from traffic lights to McDonald’s! They even added some great details inside of the buildings as well!. The first graders really enjoyed your hard work.

Honoring one of our own staff members this Veteran's Day Weekend. If you know East Aurora, you know about the commemorative canvas banners along Main Street honoring those who have served. Today we'd like to thank Mr. Arnold, one of our High School Social Studies teachers for his service. His banner just happens to be right outside our Main Street Middle School building. To honor the Mexican holiday, Dia de los Muertos, High School Spanish students held workshops with the fourth grade students. Each fourth grader received their name in Spanish, listened to a story about the holiday, colored masks, decorated sugar skulls, made paper cempasuchil (marigold) flowers, learned some Dia de los Muertos vocabulary words through gamification and made traditional Papel Picados (Mexiacan paper flowers).
